SHKOZET, Albania -- The guided-missile frigate USS Taylor (FFG-50) and the United States European Command, through the U.S. Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation, donated medical and hygiene supplies to the Health Center in Shkozet, district of Durres, on June 17.

The health Center serves a population of 25,000 inhabitants.

This donation is made through Project Handclasp, which provides assistance to people in need and exemplifies the very best of the US military in communities throughout the world.  Project Handclasp accepts educational, humanitarian, and goodwill material and transports these items overseas on a space-available basis onboard U.S. Navy ships. These materials are donated by individuals, services, religious organization and American Industry. This shipment included: medical packing, lotions, wipes, soaps, shampoo and mouthwash.

Members of the USS Taylor transferred the supplies to the Health Center, toured the facility and met with staff and patients.
