The EUCOM Joint Lessons Learned Program (JLLP) resides in the J7 Analysis and Assessments Directorate. It serves as a critical component of enhanced war fighting, transformation, readiness and experimentation.
JLLP’s vision and mission is to provide operationally relevant, real-time support and helps shape future operations and training through focused and prioritized collection, analysis, and “before-action” review. It applies lessons identified and an institutionalized, leadership-driven and results-oriented improvement process that tracks key issues from identification through validation, resolution, sharing lessons learned.
It ensures lessons generated from exercises, training, operations, or experiments are integrated across EUCOM, other combatant commands, services, combat support agencies and other government agencies to enhance joint operations at tactical, operational and strategic levels of war.
The JLLP has many duties. Among them are reporting and reviewing “before –action” reports; focusing and prioritizing ISO collection of joint lessons learned information system; facilitating EUCOM’s issue resolution process, and disseminating lessons identified and lessons learned. Finally, it provides ELLP training to EUCOM directorates and components.
